FACILITY RULES

Know the Rules Before You Step Into the Cage.

The following rules are in place to provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable training environment for everyone. By entering West Coast BatLab, all athletes, coaches, parents, and guests agree to follow these facility rules. Failure to comply may result in removal from the facility without a refund.

‍ ‍Waivers & Supervision

  • All participants must have a signed waiver before using the facility.

  • Participants 19 years of age or older must sign their own waiver.

  • Participants under 19 years of age must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Participants under 16 years of age must have a parent or responsible adult on-site at all times.

  • Parents and guardians are responsible for the conduct and safety of the minors they supervise.

‍ ‍Facility Policies

  • Food is not permitted inside the training areas.

  • Water and sports drinks in sealed containers are permitted.

  • No gum, sunflower seeds, or chewing tobacco inside the facility.

  • Only active participants are permitted inside the batting cages.

  • Please collect and return all baseballs, softballs, tees, screens, and other equipment after use.

  • Keep walkways and exits clear at all times.

  • Dispose of all garbage before leaving.

  • Please respect your rental time so the next group can begin on schedule.

‍ ‍ Conduct & Sportsmanship

  • Safety is our highest priority, and everyone's responsibility.

  • Horseplay, running, climbing on nets, or unsafe behavior is strictly prohibited.

  • Respect other players, coaches, staff, and facility equipment.

  • Profanity, abusive language, bullying, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to use the facility.

  • West Coast BatLab reserves the right to remove anyone acting in an unsafe or inappropriate manner without a refund.

‍ ‍Batting Cage Safety

  • Batting helmets are mandatory for all batters while inside the batting cage.

  • Only one batter and one pitcher/feeder are permitted inside a cage at one time.

  • A maximum of 4 people are permitted per rental lane.

  • Only the batter inside the cage may swing a bat.

  • Never enter or exit a cage while a pitching machine is operating.

  • Always remain alert. Balls may be pitched or hit at any time. BE ALERT at all times.

  • Wait until all balls have stopped before entering the hitting area.

  • Players must provide their own helmets and bats.

‍ ‍ ‍Pitching Machine Rules

  • Never throw balls back into a pitching machine.

  • Use only the approved baseballs or softballs designated for each pitching machine.

  • Do not mix different types, sizes, or brands of balls in the same machine unless approved by staff.

  • Do not attempt to clear jams, repair, or modify the pitching machine. Notify staff immediately if assistance is needed.

  • Keep hands, bats, clothing, and all body parts away from the machine's moving components and throwing wheels.

  • Do not stand directly in front of the pitching machine except when in the batter's position and ready to hit.

  • Never retrieve balls from in front of the machine while it is operating.

  • Stop using the machine immediately and notify staff if:

    • Balls are consistently outside the strike zone.

    • The machine malfunctions, jams, or appears unsafe.

    • Any unusual sounds, vibrations, or performance issues occur.

    • Equipment, netting, or protective screens become damaged.

  • Do not continue using a machine that appears damaged or is not operating properly.

  • Report any damaged balls or equipment to staff immediately.

  • Failure to follow pitching machine rules may result in suspension of facility privileges or removal from the facility without a refund.

‍ ‍Equipment & Footwear

  • Only clean indoor athletic shoes or turf shoes are permitted.

  • Metal cleats and molded cleats are strictly prohibited.

  • Do not misuse or intentionally damage any equipment.

  • Report any damaged equipment to staff immediately.

  • Children under 6 years old are not permitted to operate or use the pitching machines.

‍ ‍ Injury & Liability

  • Participation in baseball, softball, and training activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to being struck by balls or bats, slips, falls, collisions, and other injuries that may result in serious injury or death.

  • By entering and using the facility, all participants and spectators acknowledge and voluntarily assume these inherent risks.

  • West Coast BatLab is not responsible for injuries, accidents, or damages resulting from the inherent risks of participation, the actions of other participants, or the misuse of equipment, except where required by applicable law.

  • Participants are responsible for using equipment safely and following all posted rules and staff instructions.

  • Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors and ensuring they follow all facility rules.

  • Report any injury, accident, damaged equipment, or unsafe condition to staff immediately.

  • West Coast BatLab is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property brought onto the premises.

  • Failure to follow facility rules or staff instructions may increase the risk of injury and may result in immediate removal from the facility without a refund.

  • All participants must have a completed waiver on file before using the facility. The waiver forms part of the conditions of entry and use of the facility.
